As a kid I wanted a Dachshund. My dad had a Dachshund named Wombs before I was born and I liked the way they looked. I never had dogs growing up but I was keen to get one myself as an adult.
Around 10 years ago I had a boyfriend who owned a lovely brindle whippet. I liked what my life looked like with a whippet in it. Whippet's suit London, they are compact dogs and social beings so happy to come along to anything they're invited to.
I broke up with said boyfriend and quickly realised I missed the dog more than the human .. so a year later I got my own whippet, Seymour!

Seymour was far more chaotic than the lovely calm brindle boy before him. I thought I knew what I was letting myself in for but I absolutely did not. I was also single - this brings a completely new set of experiences to the table. No.1 issue being you always have to pick up the poo. I repeat, there is no-one else to pick up the poop!

Seymour was born on the 10th of September. I've noticed a lot of whippets are born around this time. This mean't he came to live with me in November and it was chilly!! I started out Seymours wardrobe with a knitted baby jumper from a charity shop and rolled up the legs.

Eight years ago every whippet looked like Sherlock Holmes. Whilst this ode to my favourite Cumberbatch adaptation looked kinda cute, I wanted something more contemporary, functional and well fitted for my whippet longterm.

I started to make Seymour little jumpers from left over fabrics I had collected. I noticed there wasn't anything available with legs for whippets and so I made jumpers with legs that imitated my own wardrobe. Below Seymour and me enjoying a tipple in black polo necks.

Seymour received so much attention wearing the jumpers I had made I started to sew some for other peoples whippets too. I had no intention of launching a whippet coat business and so these initial sales to friends happened completely by accident.
Fast forward to the current day and we've been making coats for whippets and Italian Greyhounds for almost 7 years.
